2. Is Caliber Investments limited to specific investment companies?

No, we believe each investor is unique and no single investment company or asset class is right for everyone. We have hundreds of different investment companies that we can work with on behalf of our clients.

3. I already have a financial advisor- Why do I need to meet with Caliber Investments?

Many of the people who come into visit us already have a financial advisor. Some investors simply want a second opinion to confirm that their investments match their goals.

4. How does Caliber Investments get paid?

In many cases, the companies we invest with, pay us. When using investments that involve cost, we strive to keep fees as low as possible. Our goal is to seek better returns and potentially reduce your fees and taxes at the same time.

5. What are David's credentials and background?

You can find David's biography and credentials on the 'Meet Your Advisor' page. He is registered in multiple states as a Registered Representative of Sigma Financial Corp and can deal in most investments from stocks, bonds, and mutual funds to annuities, life insurance, and long term care. He is also an Investment Advisor Representative through Sigma Planning Corporation, a registered investment advisor, allowing him to use 'Fee-Only' when appropriate.

6. How do I schedule a time to visit with David?

You may call our office to set a time to meet with David. You can also contact Mr. Elrod through the Contact Us page of the website.

7. What are my obligations after my first face-to-face visit?

There is absolutely no charge or obligation to meet with us. If everything is just fine the way it is, then we will tell you that there are no changes to make. If changes should be made, we will suggest ways to address the problems.

8. What should I have with me for the first face-to-face visit?

  • Your latest financial statements such as: mutual funds, CDs, Life insurance, annuities, retirement accounts (IRA, ROTH 401k, 403b, def comp)
  • A copy of last year's tax return if possible
  • Your completed Financial Organizer Questionnaire (optional)
  • Any information relating to your concerns
  • Any questions you may have or want to discuss

9. What goes on at the face-to-face meeting?

We will analyze your current financial situation by reviewing your Financial Organizer Questionnaire and financial statements. Then, by talking with you and asking specific questions, we will be able to ascertain your needs and goals. It is a fact-finding mission, not a sales presentation.

10. What if my children want to attend the meeting as well?

We encourage anyone involved in the financial decision making process to be present. We often meet with siblings, children, accountants and others who may assist with the investment decisions.
